The children I teach love the Alba series of books. I have taught using both the work books and the readers over a number of years with a large number of children and they are always very excited to read the next story and rather sad when they finish the series. The workbook is a very useful tool in developing both reading and writing skills whilst engaging children with a fun imaginative story line. All the children have made great progress in developing literacy skills using these materials.

Thank you so much for writing a series of books about a girl heroine. Alba is a favourite amongst my pupils who read the stories. I am currently teaching two girls who are reading Alba books. K, who has finished all 12 says that she loves the stories: ” I especially like the adventure in Book 9 where Alba makes a paper boat and tries surfing on a stick… Please could you write more Alba stories and maybe she could have a friend?” I agree with K– more stories would definitely be appreciated! And the plot of saving an apple tree pip was also topical and chimes in with the school curriculum about environmental issues.
